Palace was built by Maha Rana Jagat Singh II in 1746
It was used to stay with Queens and Host parties
It was named as "Jagniwas" after its founder ruler
It gave asylum to Britishers during sepoy mutiny of 1857
Maharana Swaroop Singh offered it as an help to them
During 1950s, This palace was converted into a hotel
In 1971, Taj Hotels Group took over its Management
This palace has featured in 1983 bond movie "Octopussy"

It consists of 65 decorated rooms and 18 grand suites
