After acquiring the US-based firm ‘NexTable’, a restaurant reservation and table management platform, ‘Zomato Book’ came into existence. Now it has made more than 1,30,000 bookings so far and that too literally with zero investment as per its CEO’s statement! The flagship service, Zomato Gold has now 10,00,000 active subscribers all over the world at present. Apart, it has also bought ‘Hyper pure’ startup for supplying clean and fresh ingredients to its restaurants. Further, it is also now collecting used cooking oil from its hotel partners, processing them and finally delivering them to various biodiesel manufacturers.
With investments, pouring in thick and fast from leading players such as Sequoia Capital, Temasek Holdings, Info Edge and the Ali Baba group, there is no looking back for Zomato any time soon. It will definitely continue its good work of satisfying the appetite of millions of Indians day in and day out indeed!
