Every woman will be afraid of something or the other for sure. And that too, in particular, a pregnant woman will be a lot more worried about what if things will turn unpleasant or if something goes wrong at the time of labor. Despite high standards of care, this is quite common these days. Here are the top fears prevailing among expectant mothers in the labor process:

1.      Cesarean:
It is pretty unfortunate to undergo this procedure. Many times in the last stages of labor procedure, women have to undergo cesarean to give birth to her child. Though women are strong as mothers, it is advised to be well informed and have an open line of communication with the caregiver. Having confidence is vital for ensuring successful delivery.

2.      Interventions:
The interventions become part and parcel of the labor process at times. So being well-informed helps a lot in various things happening at the time of giving birth. You must carefully assess the associated risks and benefits of these interventions, other available alternatives and the consequences of avoiding them. It helps in arriving at the right decision.

3.      Loss of sexual pleasure:
Women feel that they will experience severe pain for months during intercourse if done during pregnancy period. They even think that there will be no pleasure at all, and any form of sexual intercourse will only result in pain. There is indeed a way out of this problem for women by speaking and seeking help for sorting out the pain caused while taking part in sexual activities.

4.      Death of baby:
Each mother fears about the death of her baby in her pregnancy. It is an apprehensive response and is very common among modern moms. Women also get distressing dreams at that time, and there is no need to worry about it. Fearing all the way is not right, as it could cause unwanted stress. It is best to discuss with your mother, partner or doctor. They will put your fears to rest and help you in the process of coming out of your anxiety.

5.      Others:
There are many more fears such as what if the pregnancy cord gets around the baby’s neck or will there be a premature birth, will the labor process be excruciating etc.,
